Distances to Starting Places
Distances to starting places are 500 to 1,500 m on Day 1. On other days, distances to starting places are 500 to 3,000 m.
Maps
All maps are printed (6/2009) maps with a scale of 1:10 000, on long distances 1:15000 for some classes. Contour interval is 5 m. In youngster and adult classes, maps are of size A3 or A4, in children’s classes A4 or A5 (printed map). In sprint competitions, a special sprint map is used. All maps are provided in plastic pockets.
Emit Punching System
You must present the number of your Emit (electronic punching card) when registrating. Organizers will reserve rental Emit cards for those having not notified their Emit card numbers. We will charge of rental fee of €12 per week, or € 3 per day. Pre-reserved Emit cards can be picked up from the Event centre Info point until 10 PM 11 July. Thereafter, cards can be picked up from the Competition centre Info point. Emit card payment must be made when paying the registration fee. For loss of a rental Emit card a fee of €70 will be charged.

Registration fees must be paid when registrating by bank transfer using the reference number provided by the registration system or your club’s own reference number.
All payments must be made with the following information: Bank - Nordea; IBAN - FI2110333000106636; SWIFT code - NDEAFIHH. Banking charges will be paid by the competitor.
Elite Classes Qualification
In classes H21E and D21E (World Cup qualification), registration is restricted. The organizers and the Finnish Orienteering Federation reserve the right to choose competitors for the classes H20E, H18E, H16E, D20E, D18E, and D16E. Those elected not to be included in the elite classes will be placed in the next class corresponding as closely as possible the elite class in question. Selection criterion for Finnish orienteers is the Finnish ranking on 15 June 2009. Elite classes selection criteria for foreign orienteers are the World Ranking and achievements on national level. Selections will be made primarily from those competitors competing on all five Days. In elite classes, on the last day of Fin5 there will be a pursuit.
Keep-fit Class
For keep-fit class, there are offered five courses every day (for classes, distances and starting places, see the table above). Registration is made in the keep-fit class info in the competition centre. Map fee: €40 per week, or € 10 per day. Perhe - RR class: registrations are made in the keep-fit info of the competition centre. Map fee: €40 per week, or € 10 per day.
Rastiralli Class
Rastiralli is a marked-out orienteering course especially designed for children. On every day on Fin-5, there is a course of 0.5 to 2 km for the Rastiralli class. A charge of €12 per week, or € 3 per day, is charged for Rastiralli.
Child Care (Muksula)
In competition centres, there is a child care area (Muksula) for small children above the age of one. Registration for Muksula must be made by 29 June 2009 to the address fin5toimisto@aina.net. When registrating, the child’s name, age, days of participation, possible allergies, and name and telephone number of the guardian must be provided. For children not pre-registrated, child care is only provided depending on the availability of children's nurses. The daily charge of €4 includes a snack.
Prizes
On the Fin-5 Orienteering Week, prizes in the form of goods are given for all competitive classes according to final results of the week. Additionally, the winners of Days 1, 2, 3, and 4 are awarded.
After the finish line of the day 5, all competitors as well as participants in the keep-fit class are awarded a commemorative medal.
Among the participants of the keep-fit class, two prizes per course are raffled off every day.

Parking
Parking places are in the vicinity of the competition centre on a field on a walking distance less than 1 km from the completion centre.
Parking fees for cars and mobile homes/caravans are €25 per week, or €6 per day, and for buses €50 per week, or €16 per day. Parking tickets are sold at the Info point and at the parking area. Our parking assistants will review all vehicles for parking tickets when exiting the parking areas. Weekly parking tickets can be purchased when registrating, and also using our registration service. Pre-paid parking tickets are picked up from the Event centre Info point. Accommodation at the parking area is forbidden.
Transportation
Buses for competition centre leave from the Event centre. A bus ticket for adults costs €25 per week, or €6 per day, and for 12-year-olds and younger orienteers €15 per week, or €4 per day. Bus tickets are sold at Info points. Weekly bus tickets can be purchased when registrating, and also using our registration service. Pre-paid bus tickets are to be picked up from the Event centre Info point. Bus timetables are provided on the Fin-5 home page and in the programme leaflet.
Competition Centre Services
Info point, guide pole, dining, cafe and kiosk services, a place for washing, a place for washing gear, and toilets.
Event Centre Services
Info point, simple accomodation (sleeping on the floor), showers, dining room, café/kiosk services, sales and demonstration points.
Accommodation services
You can ask for a simple accommodation (sleeping on the floor) from the Fin-5 office. On the home page, there is provided information on available cabins. A place for sleeping on floor can be reserved when registrating using our registration service. On our home page, there are links to various accommodation services.
