The Fin5 in Hämeenlinna is the top orienteering festival of the Finnish summer – also for the keep-fit orienteers. The keep-fit class participants have a chance to enjoy the same terrains and high-class maps as the orienteers in the competitive classes. It will be an unforgettable experience! The keep-fit orienteers are not bound by specific starting times: they can choose their starting times according to the starting times of the other family members.
Fin5 offers five different courses for the keep-fit classes – every day. For the beginners we have the easy course (course C), for the orienteers with some experience we have the course B, and the more demanding courses A3, A5, and A7 are for the experienced orienteers. All the daily course alternatives can be reviewed at the Info point in the Competition Center. The youngest children can enjoy an exciting orienteering experience, too. On the Perhe-RR courses, they will be running with their parents/guardians.

The keep-fit class has its own starting place (Starting point no 5) (the Perhe-RR courses start at the Starting point no 4). At the starting point, every keep-fit class participant must report themselves to an official, who will guide the participant to the correct map box (at the starting point of the Perhe-RR courses, an official gives the family all the required maps). A keep-fit participant starts his/her race by resetting the EMIT punching card (punching the reset identifier).
All the keep-fit classes participants (including Perhe-RR) must run to the finish no 5.
The Emit card is read after the finish line. A rental Emit card must be returned to the keep-fit Info point at the end of its rental time.
After the finish, every participant receives a printed copy of his/her intermediate times for the run.
The daily results are shown on the scoreboard in the Competition Centre and on the Fin5 homepage. There will be no total results for the week for the keep-fit classes.
Among the participants of the keep-fit class, two prizes per course are raffled off every day. On the fifth day of the Fin5 (17 July), all the competitors crossing the finish line will receive a commemorative medal.
